There are common principles behind the various different kinds of resonance. For example all of these systems exhibit a tendency to oscillate at a fundamental frequency, and at its higher harmonics, and those harmonics occur at integer multiples of the fundamental. The mathematical relationship between the frequency and the wavelength of a standing wave is the same in all these systems, and the phenomena of constructive and destructive interference, all manifest themselves in similar form in all of these diverse resonating systems.
