Fig. 7.1 An architect’s model painted in full color, and enclosed in a glass case, provides a compelling metaphor for the world of perception modeled in the brain, especially if the model is located on a pedestal in the lobby of the building of which it is a miniature copy. A little man living in the model world could imagine the greater external world by scaling up the world in which he lives proportionally.
