This is a model of the subjective experience of visual consciousness, as seen when standing on a long straight road. The phenomenal world is clearly three-dimensional and volumetric, and yet there is also a peculiar perspective distortion, because distant objects are perceived to be smaller, and yet at the same time they appear undiminished in size, as if the size scale itself shrinks with distance from the observer. The volume of the world of experience is not infinite, as is (for all practical purposes) the world of external space. Beyond a certain distance everything in the perceived world gets flattened to the inner surface of a bounding sphere. All of our conscious experience is expressed within the limits of that sphere.
