In the first place this issue is touched on briefly in the last paragraph of the conclusion. But as I explained to the editor, I have specifically avoided discussion of the epistemological implications of this theory, as I suspect that would open up a "can of worms" that would offer an opportunity for the reviewers to argue those issues, and give them more excuse to reject the paper. Since the paper was rejected anyway, I guess the point is moot at this juncture.
