Plato's Cave: Invariance
Invariance
If there is a "node" (cell? cell assembly? pattern of activation?) in
your brain which represents the concept "square", one would expect
this node to "light up" in the presence of any square,
whatever its rotation, translation, or scale happened to be. Such a
node would thus be invariant to translation, rotation, and scale.
