Again the reviewer misinterprets this as a specific computational mechanism, whereas it is a general approach that is being advanced. If the reviewer has reason to believe that these phenomena cannot in principle be achieved by a relaxation of local spatial constraints, then the reviewer should explain why. In the meantime, I propose that the present general concept is at least as workable as the alternative unproven approach, especially for addressing the larger issues which motivate this approach (including isomorphism, perceptual modeling, multistability in perception, amodal perception etc.) which are not even considered by the alternative models.
