But it is a solution to the mind/body problem to propose that mind and brain are not distinct, but they are one and the same thing! That in turn opens the possibility of direct examination of brain states through phenomenology, viewing not just structures which are similar to brain states, but experiencing those brain states directly! In fact, all we can ever know in conscious experience is the state of our own brain!

You don't have to buy it yourself. I admit this is a really big one to swallow. But to suggest that because you are not personally convinced, that nobody should be allowed to hear about this alternative is to make a mockery of the whole purpose of this journal, which (if I read the mission statement correctly) is exactly to present revolutionary proposals that challenge some foundational assumptions and stimulate debate in the community. I just wish the debate was in the community instead of behind closed doors in smoke-filled rooms between faceless strangers!
