I have no idea what this editorial comment means! The reviewers complain that prägnanz is a "higher-order Gestalt principle that itself stands in need of some explanation in terms of a computational mechanism." That is just plain nonsense as I have pointed out, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the genaralizability or scalability of the Gestalt bubble example beyond its own particular case, they are talking about prägnanz, not the Gestalt bubble model. But prägnanz was already demystified by Wolfgang Köhler.
